Tafadzwa Makara is a Doctoral Candidate in the Environmental Justice and Low Carbon Transitions Cluster at the University of Stirling in the United Kingdom. He completed his Erasmus Mundus Joint Master European Interdisciplinary Master African Studies at the University of Bayreuth, Germany; University of Porto, Portugal; and Bordeaux Montaigne University, France. He also holds a master’s in Sustainable Development from KU Leuven in Belgium, and a BSc from Great Zimbabwe University in Zimbabwe. His research interests span the political economy of development, energy transitions,and extractive governance. Tafadzwa’s extensive experience studying, working, and living in Africa, Europe, and North America is a testament to his field. Tafadzwa also works with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
